Did the 1927 cars have a hole in the rear cross member for the gas gauge opposite the gas filler hole, or was 1928 the first year for this?

27 and 28 gas tanks are the same. Parts book confirms they are the same for C and N Passenger.

A few years ago a 1927 with disc brakes was advertised for sale.
I am interested in finding out about the brakes used and the amount of work involved in installing them as well as their effectiveness.

Do you not wonder why he was selling it? Probably a message there.

You don't need disc brakes, the original brakes are fine as long as you use the right lining material and adjust them correctly. When I had an accident in my 28 it was the width of the tyres not the brakes as there was 22 feet of skid marks on the road

I bet the road was not the only place that had skid marks? From the photos and damage to the 28 this was not a small accident.
