They need to bring this new 2012 Volt out quickly. At least it is priced some $37,000 less that the current 2011 model so it should appeal to a wider market.

Back in Feb when they sold a little over 200 Volts, GM said the lack of sales was due to dealers not having them in stock to sell so they would increase production of Volts to 5,000 a month to increase sales.

GM now admits that in July Chev sold only 125 Volts; and calls to dealers found plenty of them in stock. It seems GM was telling some "porkies" back in Feb. The lack of sales is due to lack of demand, not lack of supply. People just don't want to buy this turkey even with massive taxpayer rebates.

In comparison, Ford sold over 49,000 F150s in July. Even Ford's Fusion sold over 19,000 units in July.
