Bob... I had a lot of picture taking regret after the meet! One thing I missed was you guys fighting with that tire! Here's some of the older cars, enjoy!

The engine should have been dark green/gray, shouldn't it? But I think all the cars were fabolous and representative for the Anniversary. Thanks for the big choice we had all the way.

The engine pictured is a 23. Not sure what color those are supposed to be. My 21 is black and so is several other 1920-21s I have seen. Good to meet you Erling as well as your family.

Bob... you need to switch your profile tag line... it doesn't list a '21!

These put my '21 to shame! Mine is just a driver with spray paint as paint!

Mine is the one with 2 port hole back windows. The way I see it is get it out have fun with it and if you want to make it shiney shoot more paint on it and rub it out.Unless these cars get out there, no one will know what they look like, good or bad. If I could show mine the way most people drove them back in the day the show would have to be on a Sat, The car would have to be piled high with chicken and possibly a hog crate strapped to the running board. The old photos of going to town to "trade" are really intersting. 490s were not a rich mans car, but for many people, it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and a step up from a T or a horse.

I agree! They are fun to DRIVE and tinker with. They need to be seen. It was really great to have such a wide assortment of early cars at Flint to see.

I have had cars that I made essentially "perfect," and then I stopped having fun with them. (Gee, maybe that's why I got two of these? Have to think about that...).

I have a great idea Don, Get both running and bring the best running one to the Newport Hill climb the first week of Oct. I know of at least another one that will be there (mine) and possibly another one if the guy brings his from last year again. It is a really fun weekend and lots of pre war Chevys show up. Might get some new members for VCCA. A couple years ago a guy brought a Royal Mail! Besides Louis Chevrolet Ran the hill back about 1911. www.newporthillclimb.com

Solan - Like Bob said, the engine shown is my '23. The '24 & '24 engine color is somewhat correct. It might have been a little darker originally - but not much different. I have heard it refeered to "Ohio Bell Green". Ohio Bell was the phone company here where I live.
I do have a front plate that mounts between the timing gears and block that still has the original paint on it, but it also sat in oil for years.
