Does anybody know if someone is reproducing the rubber strips over the rear wheel wells? They're located behind the upholstery (see pictures). If not, is there anything close? Randy ![[Linked Image from members.aol.com]](http://members.aol.com/nudor/DCP_0131.jpg)

I would cut about an inch from the end and take that with me to all swap meets. We have a fellow on the West coast that is at all major West coast swap meets and has a huge selection of extruded rubber. Perhaps you will find a vendor in your area.

Thanks, Ray. We have a swap meet here next weekend as part of the 3rd Midwestern Nationals. Maybe I'll get lucky. Randy

If you find someone who has a STEEL RUBBER Products catalog, you may recognize it in there. Each type has a picture for identification.

I have a STEELE RUBBER catalog, but couldn't find anything quite like it there. I may look a little further in other years and makes. I just sent them an email with the pictures to see if they can help.

Ray, I searched and searched for this item and never did locate it. I did my best to restore the broken pieces I had with black silicone caulk and black RTV. The seal is just there to direct water away from the interior and as you know it doesn't show, so appearance was not a high priority. Good luck! Dave

WOW! They have quite a variety of extruded rubber! I'll do some browsing through their catalog. There's got to be something close. Thanks.

I sent the photos to restoration specialties, and they wrote back that they do not carry it. I guess it's back the swap meets!

If you find someone with that extrusion, please let me (and others in this chatroom) know. I need the same pieces for my 35 Coach. The ones I took out are hard as stone, and fractured, of course. While I prefer to use the correct part, I thought I would use a different section weatherstrip and cement it in well, if I can't find the correct extrusion. Mcmastercarr.com has a large selection of rubber extrusions.

Jim, I will post a supplier if I find one. Both Steele Rubber and restorationspecialties.com said they don't carry it. Nothing in the online catalogs either (Filling Station, Obsolete Chevrolet Parts, Chevs of the 40s, etc.). Mine are also hard as a rock and brittle. I'm also planning on using some other type of extrusion if I can't find the original. As Hemmings has my upholstery backordered, I guess I have some time to do some searching. Randy (jozeppi)

Hi Randy, Was not aware that Hemmings was into the upholstery business. (Just pulling your leg Randy).

OOPS! A "senior moment" for sure. Hampton Coach for the upholstery, of course. Ray, I'll be contacting you for advice in the next few months or so as I start tinkering with the non-working radio that I bought on ebay. I've got a fair amount of experience with 50s-60s vacuum tube radios/tvs as my father was a tv repairman from about '47 to the early 80s. I started going on house calls with him when I was three (handed him tubes, tools, etc.). Even inherited his old tube checker that still works just fine. That's for another post, though. Randy
