howdy friends, need some help here. getting ready to paint my 27 4-door. i want to know what my choice's are. i'm trying to keep it original. also,is there any numbers on the car that would give me away if i changed colors? i have seen car's with a different color around the windows. is this original? the original paint was as follows- fenders, aprons etc. black-,body is blue-,from the bottom of the glass up is black-, around the windows blue. i don't like the color combination and want to change but i want to keep as orignal as possible. thanks for your help, jerry

As you probably already know, the sedan came in only one color.

Not sure about the official stance on the judging interpretation, but

orignal as possible
could be interpreted as any color combination available in 1927, which would give you nine combinations.

thanks roger, no, i was unaware that there was only one combination for the sedan. are you sure that is right? i really don,t like the blue but if thats all there was, i guess i'm stuck with it. how about around the windows? would you happen to have a picture of a unrestored 27-4door. if so would you send it to me? my car was built in janesville wisconsin if that makes any difference. i have three 27s and i have found some difference in them. by the way, how is your project coming along. did you get your top fixed to suit you? thanks, jerry

Hi Jerry,

If you haven't already ordered them, get the 1927 service bulletins. The September bulletin has the paint codes/names for each model from 1925 to 1927. Paint it like this one and you will have a head turner.

No progress on my top slats to date, but your pictures gave me some good ideas. I will send you a larger photo via email.

Hi Jerry

My 27 Sedan was blue with black and some time later was painted light green then painted all blue. The green was the same as I have sean the two door coach modles painted.

Roger I like the color of yours I would love to to see more pics of it.
Thanks Doug

hey roger, as always, you are of great help. after along time looking at the pictures you sent, the blue is starting to grow on me. can you send me a picture of the whole car? one like you put in your post would be great. the car that i'm getting painted is the one that i sent you a picture of the top. i painted my 2-door my self, green/black but i used cheap paint and it shows. the 4-door is getting painted by a pro. glad i could help you with your top. by the way, where can i get those bulletin's that you told me about? i'll let you know how it goes. thanks again jerry

Hi Jerry,

Call The Filling Station and order their catalog. They advertise here on this very thread. Better yet, call them and order the 1927 issues of CHEVROLET SERVICE NEWS for $15 and they will send along a free catalog.

I sent you an email yesterday with the full size photos of that particular 4 door in my previous post. Do you have a new email?

The paint is called Marine Blue, Duco 2441332.

Roger

roger, i'll order the bulletin's the first of the week. as for the e-mail, i did get the 4 pic's but the only thing i get is the front part of the car. evidently i don't know how to get the full view. if you would, send me a pm and tell me how to view the whole car. like i told you, i'm still learning about computers. its hell feeling so dumb about learning this stuff. i'm still learning how to navigate this site. sorry, jerry

Jerry- The picture files I sent you were large files. On the bottom right side of the email there are scroll bars you can move to move the view you see. You can also save the picture and view it, which will give you the complete picture that fills the extents of your monitor size.

I can reduce the size of the files and send them again, if you're still having trouble. Let me know.

I ordered the service news from The Filling Station a month or so ago and they were back orded. I have not heard anything since and I was planning to call monday. I hope they have them now as I am trying to work on my car and they would be very helpful to have. I put a couple of pics of mine in My Projects area.
