I found a grille on ebay, item #7919872620, that is advertised as a 1935 Master. The shell looks correct but the insert looks like a Standard. Is it just me or is there a difference between the grille inserts? Thanks...

The shell is correct as it has no radiator filler cap hole or head lamp support holes. The Standard grille will not fit in a Master shell.

Why is it that some grille inserts look like a "mesh" and some look like vertical bars? It appears that if you spray paint the insert silver that the cross bars (behind the vertical bars) become more visible...? Thanks

The 1934 grille screen had every other verticle bar painted black-as well as the mesh between the bars. The 1935 had just the mesh painted black. If this mesh is not painted-or is faded etc. it changes the entire appearence of the grille.
