So, as we are nearing the 25th Anniversary of the first Corsica rolling off the line (Nov/Dec. 1986) will they ever be collectible? Most are trashed, the one I am buying is a Feb. 1987 build date with only 70 k on the clock and great looking gray upholstery! It is bare bones and has few options. It has a V-4 and no power acc. except brakes and steering. This will be the 6th Corsica that someone in my family has owned. Also, I was wondering if anyone can tell me any history on them?

VCCA members have access to a list of over 50 Technical Advisors who can help you with your car. It's worth the price of membership! While you can get a lot of information for free in this forum, sometimes the info that you REALLY need is only available from the right person. This is what "The World's Best Chevrolet Club" is all about!

Hmm...looks alot like the lumina. probably has alot in common. We have a '94 lumina 3.1 sedan. That things been every were, seen almost everything...gets THE BEST gas millage and still runs like a swiss watch. Not a SPOT of body rust eaither.
In my shop, quality is a standard, NOT and option.
It is an inline 4 cyl, which was standard, they called it the 'iron duke' it gets around 30 mpg The 2.8 6 was optional

There's a Corsica that showed up around here at a car show with only 6600 miles on it. It was a 1990 and had the shifter on the column-- didn't know Corsicas ever came that way.
Wow! Those are low miles! I am shocked that one popped up at a car show! The column shifter came on some of the 1986 and early 1987 models and then a few here and there between 1986-1990. I think it will be a rare vehicle in years to come as most were junked and nice examples are rare...

Wes... as far as collectibility goes, I wouldn't put too much money into it, as it may never be worth much. Sentimental value is something hard to put a price on, and if you're going into it thinking you are going to keep it forever, that's a different story. There's a huge difference between 'rare' and collectible. If you are into collecting cars of that age (vintage... can I say that yet?) now would be the time to start grabbing up cars like the Beretta GTZ, maybe one of the limited edition Indy Pace Car versions. History shows that value goes up on the top of the line 2dr models way more than a 4dr sedan... even if it does have a "rare" column shift, and now would be the time to get one while they're cheap. That said... If your memories are tied to the Corsica, you may very well have the nicest one in the country and will be able to claim that at the VCCA's 75th Anniversary meet in 2036!
Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet. 1953 Belair Convertible 1951 2dr Deluxe Sedan 2015 GMC SLE 4X4

I'm assumming that one small corner of heaven for me(if I make it there) will have a VCCA show field as well! Of course, in my version of heaven, I get a Preservation and a Best of Show!

True! Well I love a lot of cars, from many different eras. I enjoy the Corsica for some strange reason besides the sentimental value. Yet I have a '21 490 and a '48 Connie parked next to it! But, seriously I will be curious to see if they will show up at shows. Mine has 74k on it, and I am getting it put over to 134-a today and I tore out my friend's $500 sound system and put back in the good 'ole delco am/fm cassette! (I prefer a cassette and I gave him back his sound system). They were different from any other GM product of the time...
