Started my 27 Chevy for the first time. It has not been run since the late 50's when my dad drove it last. Still have lots of work to do on it. Didn't run it long has fuel leaking at the line down on the frame and oil leak at the t-fitting on block. It's not running quite right ign. or fuel mixture but will have to fix leaks first. It's great to read your news and stuff about your cars.

Gidday Doug,
Hello, welcome and great to read that you have made a start with your 27.
Keep the process rolling along and when you can please post up some pix of it which are always good to look at.

Ah, yes! When you wake them up and actually see and hear and smell them run for the first time after a long, long slumber - that's one of the finest moments in the hobby! Congratulations.

Well done,
one more to us, one less to the scrap heap. Hope you enjoy.
Cheers
Ray
Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great" I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the good words. Fixed the oil leak today and the fuel leak slowed to a little sepage just two damp spots down under the car so I will wait until I get a new line. Started it again today didn't run well checked ignition and all seamed fine. Noticed the intake manifold was cold and wet on outside never seen that before. Dad pulled the vacum line off the vacum fuel pump and we pluged it off. Started the car it ran fine so it is pulling fuel through the vacum side. Will have to pull the pump and go through it again.
Great fun working on the older ones for a change, not like the new ones I work on everyday. Doug

It is a proud moment when they start after a long period of rest. I think it is my favorite part of the hobby.
