After a long break (about 15 years) from working on my 1956 Chevy Bel Air 2 dr Hdtp I am finally going to work on it till I get it done! My goal is to get it to fresh off the showroom floor condition. Years ago I remember seeing a document that instructed you what gets painted what on the car. For example, the frame should be black semi gloss, the horns were gloss black, etc. Anyone know where i can get this info? Also, is powder coating accepted by judges instead of regular paint? thanks

Welcome to the Forums. You might want to repost your inquiry in the 1955-1956 Forum. Some folks only look in the Forums of the years of their cars and you might get more response from there. Beamer

Order a copy of the book "How to restore a 1957 Chevrolet" from the Filling Station. It will answer hundreds of questions.
