What magazines would you recommend to an overseas member. I get OCW free e-mail bulletins but am looking for something more substantial or should i say more technical. I sent a subscription to Car Collector but never heard from them. Some of the adverts i see may be out of date. Need to pay on line as drafts cost $30.

Well, it's right underneath you. VCCA. Once a full fledged member, upon payment of dues, you get magazine and all. I've heard arguably, one of the best, if not, THE best clubs to join. VCCA.

Thanks oilspot, I forgot the obvious. My number is #44866. G&D has some good pictures of the cars, quality has got better since the 80's.I often block mount the ones I like. Now what about those magazines.

Wannchev, Guess you could give Oil Spot pointers on the G&D and membership in the VCCA. dance

After VCCA and its G&D, I would reccommend joining Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). They have a nice bi-monthly magazine with emphasis on all old cars. Well, that's not just right, either. To me, they seem to be oriented toward weird, limited, Classic marqees and Frod, than most other USA products. But still its a nice club and and produces a quality magazine with, like G&D, nice articles and pictures, and mechanical/body tips, etc.

Probably the best monthly magazine for technical information is "Skinned Knuckles". http://skinnedknuckles.net/pages/index.htm

"Hemmings Classic Car" is another great magazine. You can find them at www.hemmings.com

Chip... not sure if it's happening down there, but I was catching every issue of Hemmings Classic Car at my store and just buying the ones with the Chevy write-ups. I noticed it wasn't around the past couple months, then finally saw it this week. It is now a quarterly magazine. I'm a little disappointed! More pictures and a bit thicker... but more wait time!

That's a surprise to me. I just received the August 2011 edition and it still indicated that it is monthly.

Not sure if it's just up here, or I looked at the wrong mag... but I do specifically look for it and Collectible Automobile...
