At a flea market last weekend I purchased a NOS headllight assembly for my '35 Standard. Upon taking the lens off I noticed there was a coat of clear material over the reflector. It was hard and peeling away but the reflector was in excellent condition.
Does anyone know what was put on the reflectors back when this car was new? I expect it isn't required now as a lot of the silver cleaners leave a protective coating on the silver.
Also, if anyone has removed this clear coating what did they use to remove it?....Thanks, David
