I am trying to get my 57 ready to drive from Alabama to Flint and thought I would rebuild the carb on my 235. My question is are there supposed to be two gaskets to the manifold? The parts store says there are two used on the 57; one between the manifold and the spacer/block and then between the carb. There was only one when I took it off.

Thanks in advance. Jim

Apparently when the carburetor was rebuilt in the past the kit only had one gasket and so that was what was used. Many people feel that the insulator has gasket sealing properties.

Welcome to Chatter.
I would use a gasket on each side of the insulator as I have seen too many vacuum leaks otherwise.
