I have been talking to a fellow who has an 1926 chevy superior coupe for sale. I asked him if it had an vin number and he told me it has a maker number (is that the same thing) and where on the car could I find this. Thanks

Welcome to Chevy Chatter II. Glad to have you on board with us!

is that the same thing

No. Your vehicle has a car serial number and it is not the same thing as a VIN.

poor_boy open the passenger side door and look on the side of the front seat. There should be a small tag nailed onto the side of the seat. It will read Chevrolet, Model Superior and below that there will be one or two numbers followed by a 'K' or 'V' and then four or five numbers will follow that.
