Regarding the photo below, the air filter on the left was on my 1940 1/2 ton pickup, and I believe it is correct for that model. I replaced the original copper mesh with a more efficient dry paper cartridge. The air filter on the right was on my 1937 1/2 ton pickup. The housing is crimped together such that it cannot be disassembled to remove, clean and re-oil the fiber mesh. Does anyone recognize this as a genuine GM unit or is it an after-market part?

The air cleaner for the 37 truck is the genuine original equipment for 37 pickup truck
