I have a '37, 216 engine from a business coupe. A fellow wants it to drop in his '36 Chevy passenger car to replace his frozen 206. Is this a bolt swap or is he asking for problems?

Thanks,
Roger

Roger,

The 206 is an inch longer than the 216 and the pans are different. This has created issues with my setup. I'm going to a 235 but still things to consider. The pan runs interference with the cross member that runs between the bellhousing and engine pan and the tie rod rubs on the bottom of my pan. I also had to make a new mounting bracket for the front mount. I ended up using a truck front mount. The flywheel bolt pattern and clutch assembly might be different.I can still go back to stock pretty easy. I know the purist's are cringing at this but the 206 is to expensive for me to rebuild.

Below is the posts I have put on the Stove Bolt.
