I have the oportunity to buy a carter W1.
The patent #s I can read are
---6192
-1831056
1858614 could be 1958614
188615
1881996
1844631 could be 1944631
1861743
I was thinking it would go close to fitting on my 38.

I have never compared the model numbers with the patent numbers on the casting. It might be something to do when I have some spare time. Off the top of my head, there are probably 8-10 different castings.

If you post a detailed description of the throttle arm, location of vacuum port, choke plate (aka butterfly), choke arm/springs, number of screws attaching air horn, numbers on the metering rod, numbers on the float bowl cover, one of us can probably identify the carb.

Chip
It is on ebay and only a couple of hours left to go with not good pics in the ad. At $29 I will take pot luck and hope it may have a few parts interchangeable with what I already have.

I thank you for attempting to answer but I was out bid 10 minutes before auction end.
