After a week of trying, I think I finally have gotten into this forum and gotten registered, thanks to help from others. Hooray!
I will be taking over the Editorship of the Generator & Distributor starting with the August issue. I've been editing the Buick Club's national magazine for 5-1/2 years, and have owned and restored a few Chevrolets in the past, but can't claim any among the 10 or 11 antique cars in my garage right now.
I want to invite owners of 1961 Chevrolets (primarily the full-sized cars--Corvairs will be covered in a later issue) to send articles and photos of their cars to me for inclusion in the August issue. That issue will be devoted to the '61s which are now 50 years old. I need high-resolution digital photos or color prints. Photograph all four sides of the car, plus the dashboard, the interior, the engine, and any unusual options or features of the car. If you restored the car, send some "before" as well as "after" photos. I will return any prints that are sent to me, and will carefully handle and return any 1961 literature. I need all of this before June 15th. The sooner you send it, the more likely I will have room for it. The longer you delay, the more likely the magazine will fill up before your article arrives. I'm very partial to unrestored, original cars, so it doesn't have to be in perfect condition to get into the magazine.

You can send articles by e-mail or post office mail. My address will be at the bottom of this message. Please put the text into a separate file from the photos, so we can do our own layout of the article.

Are there any '61s out there that still have a functioning Turbo-Glide transmission? I'd love to see an article on that. Also, if there are any '61 Impala Super Sports, the special features and trim of that car would make a nice article and provide great close-up photos. How about a rare Bel Air 4-dr. hardtop? How about a Parkwood or Nomad station wagon--any of those around? How about a car that has been in the same family since new? Write it up and send it in. I think you will be impressed with the changes that are coming in the G&D, but it will only be as good as you help make it.

Welcome. Let me be one of many to wish you the best of luck editing our Great Magazine, G&D.

I've enjoyed reading The Buick Club's Magazine a few times.

As you know G&D is a good magazine and has been one of the enjoyments of VCCA members for a long time. As good as it is, there's probably room for improvements and changes. And I will look forward to seeing your changes.

Along with my interest and anticipation I'm curious;
What are your primary goals for G&D ? {next 12 months +-}

Will you be responsible for writing the "copy" ?

What type of Changes/Improvements are you planning ?

Thanks & best of luck,
Michael41

Sorry that it has taken me so long to get back on here. This is not the easiest chat site to access.
I will be writing some but not all of the articles. I think you can look forward to more "meat" in the articles and an improved magazine.
Still looking for a few full-sized 1961 car owners to offer a few photos or paragraphs about their cars. Will need this by June 10th if you want to be part of this issue.

I have Chevy Chatter II bookmarked and I never log out. That way, all I have to do is to click on my bookmark and I go immediately to the forum page.

You're going to be going online to gather info for the G&D, an icon on your desktop will allow you to find the site without the delays you've experienced.

Years ago, when I met my girlfriends parents for the very first time, I made darn sure I didn't say how dirty the house looked to me. dance
