What order do the wires go on the disributor cap 1-4 want to make sure I have it right and didnt see it in the repair manual.

The Firing Order on all Chevy 4 cylinders is 1-2-4-3.

on the cap there is a small cut out that fits over the cap locating pin on the dizzy, this is your n.o 1 lead then followed by 2,4,3 in a clockwise direction

Be careful when buying new caps for late 27 and 28 as I've seen ones that look identical but have that the piece that fits the cutout in the distributor about 1/2" away from where the original cap has it.
Has anyone else come across these odd caps?

Hi when NO1 is TDC should the rotor arm point to NO1 post or just before or after it ? Also my distributor clips point to 12 and 6 oclock looking above the engine , but on some photos ive seen they are 5 and 11 which are right ? thanks in advance

The timing lever dictates the orientation of the distributor. Normally the lever is to the left (facing the car) so the clips would be 12-6 on the clock.
