I recently bought a bunch of miscellaneous parts for my '38 Master Town Sedan. Included in this lot was a full front bench seat. Since my car has individual front seats, I don't have any way of knowing if it is for '38, 38, or '39. What do I need to look for? Are there part numbers on the seat somewhere?

The 1937 has the seat adjuster on the side of the seat. Its a chrome handle that pulls straight up.
The 1938 and 1939 are the same and the lever is kind of under the front of the seat way to the left.

Thanks, chevgene. It looks like it is a '37.

On my 38 the adjuster is on the drivers side about in the middle of the seat and is a chrome tab that you pull straight up. There is a chrome escutcheon around the adjuster.

Mine too. It came out of a 38 Coupe but I have no idea if it was replaced with a 37 seat...any other input from anyone? Kind of upsets me because I pulled a 38 bench seat from a sedan car in 1977 thinking it would fit my Coupe (which it won't)...well I tripped over that dang seat for 34 years until I sold it about 2 months ago. I'm gonna be real upset if I gave away the proper seat adjustment for 38! Don't recollect what the adjuster looked like on it even though I had it laying around so many years! Billu38

Here's a pic (although the adjuster is right on the seam of the pic)

That is exactly the same as my 1937 Master Deluxe Coupe. I know my seat is original. My grandfather bought the car in 37 and it's been in our family ever since. :-)

Sorry - I made a bo-bo. The 1938 had the side-chrome-adjuster lever like a 1937.

OK - for the front seat of a Master Deluxe 4 door. The 1937 has a robe rail. Metal rod, metal swinging ends. 1
1938 and 1939 has a cord.
1937 Master Deluxe 2 door has metal escucheons at the ends of the robe cors.
1938-1939 has tan plastic and they hook in rather then being fastened by a screw.

This has the chrome adjuster on the side. It has a cord with plastic escutcheons. So it must be a '38, right?
