About to put my 1928 engine back together and was woundering what should the oil gap between main bearing's and the crank shaft be?
Also, what should the oil gap for the connecting rod bearing's to crank be?
I picked up some plastic gage and am ready to assemble, I looked through my books and can't seem to locate this info.
Is .003 for oil gap enough or?
I have bearing shims from 3 motors at different gages, what should the average number of shim's and gage that should be used on the main's and connecting rod's?
Crank is stock with very low miles on it and has not been turned. ( crank is in great shape+ all bearing are good with little wear).

Keeping vintage Chevy alive.

I like .001.5 to .002 on both mains and rods. .003 is a bit much. The crank should turn freely with the mains torqued.
