I just purchased a '42 that has an AC oil filter fitted to it. The filter has a P110 cartridge in it and I would like to install a new one. I've checked all of the usual sources without success. Filling Station has a P115 (may be Chev's of the 40s)Is there another source?

Those Co's are great choices.

In case you need another choice, try WIX. I believe they have a web site {wix.com?}. Wix makes/sells oil filters for most cars & trucks. Once on the site you can search by number, size, manf., etc.

You can also look in G&D for oil filters in the classified section or advertisers.

Another idea may be, many VCCA members have good luck at local Auto Parts stores, like Napa.

If you have any pics of your 42, please post and share them on this site or send pics to G&D to get your car featured in the magazine.

Best of luck,
Michae4l41

Thanks Mike,

First place I looked was WIX. I'll try the local parts stores though, they may have a better reference catalog that I can get on line.

Will post pictures when I get it cleaned up a little!

Mehl42, here's a bit more info. Or, to much info on Oil Filters!!

Google this guy, Pat Doonan. He wrote a "paper" called, The Great Oil Filter Debate, on early Chevy/GM Oil filters and it's FILLED with info & pics. He owns a Co. called D & D Auto Parts, but published the paper just as as FYI.

It's my understanding Pat is currently talking with some sr. VCCA guys to compare notes and validate info. So the info. will improve with time.

We do not have this co. in Cal. but a few VCCA guys have said they have luck finding filters at Tractors Supply Co.

Enjoy,
Michael41
