I was recently asked about which assembly plant made the 1928 Capital LP 1-Ton Truck. What plants produced them? Were there more than one? What information is necessary to determine the location if more than one plant produced them?
Any input is more than welcome!

Post your serial number from the ID tag on your dash. The first numbers in the serial number will tell what plant your truck was made at.

SSG26K,

Thanks. The following is on the tag:
CAPITOL
12LP 1884

Does that help?

Chipper,
Thanks! That answers the main question. Do you know what other plants made the 1-Ton Capital?
Again Thanks!

My information indicates that Flint, Tarrrytown, St. Louis, Norwood and Buffalo produced LP trucks in June, 1928. July added Oakland, Janesville and Atlanta to the LP production. Last LO production was July for all plants. Yes apparently both LO and LP were produced at the same time at least in some plants.

Paul it looks like your vehicle was made in Buffalo NY in the first week of July 1928. In Buffalo they built 10,433 LP's in July '28. This site might help answer any more questions about production of old Chevys. Hope this helps.
