The following block casting numbers are from a list I have, but I don't recall where I got it. Maybe some others here can confirm them:

1930 - 836409 (all)

1931 - 836409 (all)

1932 - 836573 (all)

1933 - 837231 (CA Master)
1933 - 473180 (CC Std.)
1933 - 837231 (Truck)

1934 - 837231 (DA Master)
1934 - 473741 (DC Std.)
1934 - 837231 (Truck)

1935 - 836010 (all)

1936 - 836010 (all)

1930 is incorrect. Both 1929 and 1930 have the same block casting number of 835501. laugh laugh laugh laugh

I believe that 1935 is 837597 and kwow 1936 is 836010.The 836010 1936 full length water jacket engine was used as a replacement for the original 1935 in the later years.

The following is what I have in one file.

Year Model Block No.
1929 All 835501
1930 All 835501
1931 All 836409
1932 All 836573
1933 CA, O 837231
1933 CB 836915
1933 CC, 473180
1934 DA, 837231
1934 DB, P 837231
1934 DC 473741
1935 EA, ED 837591

The engine cast number listed for the 1933 CB may also have been used in some Master passenger cars.

Chip is correct, ALL 1935 blocks use casting number 837591.

However, the '35 engines did have two different Heads. The Early Head used 1934 style Valves with 45 degree seats and 15 long head bolts while the Late Head (serial number 4783317 and up, late March 1935) had 30 degree seats with "U" shaped valve keys and 7 short & 8 long head bolts. I believe the compression ratio also went from 5.45:1 to 5.6:1 (Early to Late).

chevy :)
