Just had a brain storm. And maybee this has been mentioned before (remember i joined VCCA not to long ago)

But i were uh thinkin'.

We work on our old chevy's with our tools and machines, right? We work on'em in our shops and garages, right? Were all the same, one gear head to another...SO with that being said...ocasionally we need a tool that we dont have and another wrencher might...or we may want to sell a tool that we dont need....so we need a place to buy and sell our gear head wrenching tools and machines in relation to the old automobiles ONLY. Like reams, crank grinders, valve seat grinders, taps, high top bolts, nuts, wrenches, ocasional lathe, ect.

Waddya think?

In my shop, quality is a standard, NOT and option.

I think having a forum for tool related issues would be a benefit. Buying, selling & trading could be a part but discussions ranging from how to properly use a tool to how much compressor do I need could also find a home there.

I can sum up my tools that I really use a lot. A great big hammer and a electric sawsall, oh I almost forgot the wire pliers!

I think what this forum really needs is a staff PSYCHOANALYST, to explain to us why we got involved with these old cars to start with.....ED

I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED

I think Oil Spot has come up with a good idea. I'd like to see a NEW forum just as he described.....

I think It's a great idea .
I had to rent a door ferrule tool and pay for shipping as well
Now that it's gone ....I need it again to fix one door ferrule that isn't holding very well.
I would rather have traded or bought one from one of our members.
I bet someone has one just sitting around.
I'm in......

Send a PM to wawusit. I sold him mine for less than half the cost of buying one. If he still has it he may pay it forward.

Well once more I’m late to the party but I think a "Tool" forum is a good idea. I know I would appreciate the info.

Now as far as
Quote
"I think what this forum really needs is a staff PSYCHOANALYST, to explain to us why we got involved with these old cars to start with."

That's my game, but without any personal therapy or forced intervention my guess is many of the responses might be in the areas of;
Brings me pleasure.
Allows me to use my abilities.
Connects me with like minded people.
Offers a since of pride & accomplishment.
Unites me with some former joys or pleasures.
Allows me to share my joy/pleasure/hobby/knowledge.
Fulfillment.

Or statements near those. Agrin

Enjoy the ride,
Michael41
