There is a library near A.P.G.(Aberdeen Proving Ground) in the county where I live that not only has books for sale but a box (as you walk in) for magazines that are donated. You just drop yours in and take any you like out. They are free and it gets a lot of activity. Everything from Cosmo. to Nat./Geo. to Hot Rod and now my spent G+D.
The G+D disappears instantly giving others some reading pleasure and some club exposure at the same time. This is the only library I have been in that offers this. I wonder how many times those G+D's recycle through that box?

I send my old G&Ds with the wife to her work. She leaves them in the break room. They are popular with the wife's co-workers.

I take mine to assisted care facility were my mom lives. there are plenty of woman's day, good housekeeping, people etc. but nothing for the guys. they seem to disappear quickly and it's not just the men who enjoy them.

I keep mine for one year and then give them to a friend along with other car magazines I get. I give him most of them right away but keep the G & D and the AACA magazines for one year. Don't ask me why! Maybe one of these days, I will give him those right away also. He passes them all on to his son and I don't know where they go from there! Beamer

I take my Antique Automobile, Bulb Horn, and Hemmings Classic Car magazines to my favorite repair garage, the Doctor's office, and the barber shop. I have saved every issue of the
G & D that has ever been printed. The first few years are in notebooks and they are stored by year. Don't ask me why because I don't know.

parking In my posting above, I said I keep my AACA and G & D magazines for a year and give away the rest as soon as I read them but don't know why. I do know why I don't keep them any longer though. Back in the 60's, I decided to keep my Pupular Mechanics magazines and did so up until the early 2000's when I felt PM no longer had the content it started with; i.e. too much science fiction and gee whiz stuff I wasn't interested in. About a year ago, I tried to sell the whole collection through several venues, except ebay, practically giving them away. The best offer I got was $10.00 for the lot. I told the guy I would have a friend dig a hole on his farm with his back hoe and bury them before I would sell them for $10.00. At the time, they were selling for an average of $8.00 a year on ebay, more for some earlier years, and I was willing to let them go for half that, or less, is someone wanted them all. No takers. I suspect people would be willing to buy certain issues containing new car reports on such cars as the first Mustang and muscle cars but if you sell the cream of the crop, you still have the others and I didn't want that. That is why I no longer "save" magazines. Beamer

How many days do you think would be average for them to remain at those places (Dr office, grarage, or barber shop) before being sneaked out to go home with someone?

I can't remember the definition of a nanosecond.
