Do you have new pistons? Do you know the size of your rings? It is important to know what the entire setup is.

Hey AntiqueMachanic
The pistons are original and in great shape and clean.
The cyl wall's were cleaned up with a bottle hone, and new piston pins installed.
The piston ring's are Burd Graf-Flox 521 STD. @ 5/32.
Head has new valve's + spring's and all new gaskets top to bottom.
Hope this help's.

So you are reusing the same pistons and the new rings are standard. Have I got it correct?

Hi ron1967
I found a full set of new old stock piston pin's on Ebay.
They come up on Ebay once in awhile, they are hard to find, I don't know of any other source that sell's these old pin's.
If I come across another set for sale I will let you know, if you are looking for a set.

Pistons, rings and pins are readily available here in Oz, I have JP pistons in both my motors and have doen a lot of miles. Not sure on the current price but a full set with rings and pins was $500 a few years ago from them in Adelaide .RAY

I have also been running JP pistons in my 28. Have had no problems in 35 years.

Cheers

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great"

I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/
