Hi
Does anybody know why Chevrolet (at lest in 33) parked the wiper blade in the middle of the windshield when it's off? Just seams kind of strange to do that. Is it just 33? see photos

The wiper on my 1932 parks in the exact same place as shown in the 1933 dealer photo.

Because you do not drive looking thru the middle, you drive looking thru the left, and passenger does not need to see at all.....evidently.

A passenger side wiper was available as an accessory.

Looking at other car manufactures in 1933 with the exception of F**d. From what I have seen most park the wiper on the left (driver side). Dodge, Plymouth, Hudson and Studebaker park it on the left as with my American Austin and Bantam. The wiper in my 33 coach wasn't working at all. I finally got a chance to remove and rebuilt it last weekend, it works great now and I found out that it parks in the middle. I just thought it would have made more sense to park it out of the way on the left like the others? It is what it is, just thought it was interesting.

Where the wiper blade parks is determined by the motor providing the arm is properly installed. For park the paddle in the motor is pulled over to a predtermined side so the blade is out of the line of the drivers vision. If it parks in the center of the sweep there is s motor problem.

It doesn't park in the center of the sweep but to the right side of it. Looking from the drives seat the wiper parks the blade out of the direct view looking straight foreword but off to the right side in the middle of the windshield like in the two photos shown at the beginning of this thread. I think this is correct but I would have preferred to to park off to the divers side out of the way if I had a choice

The photo cars are correct so I guess yours is also.
