VCCA Home Forums TECHNICAL - 1945 AND EARLIER 1933-1936 36 master tail lights

i have a 36 master that i want to take back to original. when i got it , it had one tail light with a plate bracket on the left fender, it also had a tail light added on each side on the tail pan.i have removed both of those but my question is, should it have a fender light on both fenders or just the left one. i have seen pics on e-bay of restored 36s and have seen them with one and with two. which is correct? thanks krnut

One tail light is standard equiptment. The right side light is an accessory.

I got a 36 standard and I put the one on the passenger just for safety. I do not intend to put it in a points chevy show.

Its perfectly OK for judging to have a right tail light on a Standard as it was an accessory.When new almost all Masters had a right tail light but seldom seen on Standards......The Right wiper was also ann accessory but most all models had them also.

Were passenger side tail lights an accessory on 35 Master sedans also?

Yes, the Right Tail Light was an Accessory in 1935. The Master Coupe, Sport Coupe, Coach and Sedan all had the fender mounted Tail Lights while the Town Sedan and Sport Sedan had trunk mounted lights.

While we're talking "rights", the right Sun Visor and right Wiper were also Accessories.
