Looks like a Model A open car wiper motor? Chevs used a on/off speed adjustment on the dash and didn't have a switch on the motor itself.

Yep, The model "A" wiper was self parking was the Chevrolet model not self parking?...(I have one going on my '28 Chevrolet), Why? well the Chevrolet motor is scarcer than hens' teeth. example:
a non rebuildable, non working one $65, a controller working or maybe not $95, Got an excellant Model "A" motor slide control on motor, for $40.50 and $3 shipping. I will only need a knob on dash "for Show" and I have a e-mail letter from the largest Wiper rebuilder in the USA and he says the genuine one for the 28 closed cars are not being manufactured any longer and are unavailable! Wonder what the VCCA judges will say about that?

wink wink :p chevy auto curse wazzup
Also , FYI Ray says that the Chevrolet open cars didn't come out with wipers, right Ray?

There WERE pictures of at least two cars there... one was Jeff's 28 and another 29.....

Anyway, I changed the title bar so that it wasn't under Jeff's car any longer... sorry to confuse anyone. One confused person is enough, and right now, I have that honor. [Linked Image from vccachat.org]

I've found wipers for Chev not as scarce as people are indicating. I had no problem finding a pair for my two cars. Even to the point of passing on costly ones that don't work. Not everyone knows what they fit so sometimes you have to dig as they don't put them out front. That's how I keep from being gouged.

I have been offered a wiper motor from what is probably a pre-1930 Chevrolet as it has the vacuum-switch on the motor -- rather than mounted remotely like on my later car.
Do any of you need a motor like this? What is it worth, realistically. I believe it to be NOS as it looks new but is obviously old.

Rick, I am glad to see that you have better luck, or maybe you just go about it more efficently than I have, I was looking for a certain model for a 1928 closed car Chevrolet, and they are scarcer than hen's teeth . I found a motor kike you have with the vacuum switch mounted on it, I have seen them on other Chevys closed and open, and that was probably the model used on the Model A Fords, the one I bought was a Model A wiper. I have it working but could use one in better condition, which yours seems to be. Let me know what you want for it, I saw several at a swap meet most were only good for parts and they ranged from $1 to $25 for one that works and looked to be in very good condition.
