While working on the oakie bushing ,I felt something on top of the enclosed driveshaft about 2 feet back from the universal towards the rear of the car. I couldn't see it very well but I can feel it. It feels like a set screw or lube connection or something.I didn't catch it when the driveshaft was dropped. I had the car jacked up as high as I could and the light was poor. Any ideas what that is? My manual doesn't show anything . Maybe something that adjust something. ???

BTW. After 24 hours I have a leak proof 38 chevy. Not one drop on the floor. The pcv valve and new gaskets on tthe ball/bell connection , and a new fuel pump have worked !!! Hip Hip Hooray

Great! It sure is gratifying when a repair equals or exceeds expectations.

I can't remember which manual I saw it in or for which year but I saw a drawing with a "breather" about where you are describing.

I think that is what you were touching also. It should be a short, maybe 3/8" diameter tube about 1/2" long with a cap held in place by a cotter pin.
