I have acquired a 1930 lower radiator apron for my Coach and when setting it in place, it doesn't seem to fit correctly. Toward the front of the frame rails it sits about 1 or 11/2 inch above the rail. Please advise. http://www5.snapfish.com/snapfish/s...tureID=309366738008/a=40840044_40840044/

The front horns of your frame do not look like any '29-'30 frame I have seen, and I have several of these cars. Is there any chance that your car has been built or restored and a different frame used or that it's actually a '31 or later?
Specifically, the deep notch shape of the forging in the front top of the frame doesn't look right. I'm sure that some of the experts here can confirm or correct my thoughts.
Is there any chance your car is a '31 rather than a '30? There are other distinctive differences between the two, so some additional photos of the hood, dash, headlight bar, etc might add some info. Or maybe I'm out to lunch?

Maybe, but when I took the body off I found the job # on a piece of wood that showed it to be a 1930 Coach.

Do you know where I can look at a picture of the correct 1930 front frame rails?

I have three 1930 frames and they all look exactly like the front of your frame, including the "notch" and the three holes in the side of the frame rail where the front shock absorber mounts. At any rate, from what I see in the photo, you do appear to have the correct 1930 frame. The only difference that I can see between your frame and my three frames is that your frame horn appears to be bent down further than the horn on my frames. However, it is really hard to tell in your photo. More detailed photographs would be extremely helpful.

Junkyard,
Did the apron mount over the fenders or before the fenders?

The apron goes over the fender. The front frame member from the floor to the center of the bumper bolt hole is 14.5 inches on my 1930 sport coupe (tires on the car). Both sides should be the same.

I'll post a photo of a '30 car during disassembly, with the front apron removed and the fenders still in place. It shows this area pretty well. Yours still looks different to me..... but I defer to Skip... he's the expert. Hope it helps.
