Does anyone know where we can get a floor mat for a '36 Standard Town Sedan?
The NOS floor mat that dad put in the car 25 years ago has severe cracks in it. Dad checked some sources but they seem to skip the '35 and '36.
Thanks,
Chris

HI Chris. I got one for my '35 Standard a few years ago but I don't remember who it was from. It seem to me it was someone in the NC area. Maybe if you looked in the Services Offered section of the G&D's of 8 or 10 years ago you might find it. They may have a lead on who does it now. That is the only suggestion I can come up with at the moment...........David

Chris - Pro Antique Auto Parts lists rubber floormat at $85 for 36 Chev. 1-860-627-8274. They are in Windsor Locks Connecticut near Hartford. Also Dick Moffit in Springfield OH at 937-325-7861 has mats listed.

The real reproduction mats were made by R. Dale Miller,202 33rd. ave. N.E.,Hickory, N.C. 28601---704-327-0126.He has ads in the older G&Ds.He made the first correct brown 1934 Master mats years back. They are made from a high quality material and will last forever.Mine must be close to 20 years old and looks like new. They were not cheap and I don't know if he made them in black as Standards were. His ad in a 1992 G&D lists more years. The 1936 universal replacement mat made by Chevrolet was listed for 1936 only.1934-35 were always listed together.I would give Dale a call and see what he has to offer if you want a high quality correct looking mat. They even had the Fisher Body coach moulded in.

I spoke with Dale Miller yesterday. He has gone out of business, although he stil has a few 37-39 trunk mats left. The shop that he had making most of his mats went out of business, so he decided to retire. The area code of his phone number changed to 828.
Thanks again for the help.

I'm going on memory here, but I recall talking to Bob with "Bob's Buick Parts" a few years back and we both thought his Tan Buick mats that fit the Buick 60 were the same as the '35 Master and '36 All. I think there would need to be some minor triming involved, but they should work.
Can't remember, are the '36 Standard mats Tan or Black?
Maybe another source....

Any of the larger car GM mats should fit as long as the pedal and shift lever holes are not cut.Standards always had black. The good thing is that the cars had no center hump to contend with.If looks wasn't important black rubber hall- way runner that can be purchased in a hardware store could be used.Years back a friend purchased a mat thru a "supplier" out east and that is what he recieved.
