My generator is starting to howel, is there a prevenative measure to take. There is the port that I know where you can add drops of oil to as a lubricant. My question is, when and if it does go out, would it be better to put an alternator, rather than replace the generator? And if alternator, do I need to have a bracket made for it? I don't mind the challenge, but would like good sound advice:) I have a 235 six stock motor in it. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your generator bearing might be making the noise. Just replace the bearing instead of replacing the complete generator with an alternator.

I was digging around some archives on Fenton headers and I saw an article from someone else addressing his '51 Chevy 235 six about him putting headers on. I believe you replied about going to his local Ford tractor farm supply and purchase their headers there and you should be able to get a great sound from them, and it's cheaper. I hope I understood correctly it was back in 09. If you search for Fenton headers you will find that article. Thanks in advance!
