What metal guage is sufficient for restoring and a reliable place that sells panels or sheets? I am trying to fabricate some areas.

Gauge of sheet metal used back then was between 24 and 20 depending on the location and strength required.

I purchase material from a local steel supplier and also sheet metal fabricator (mostly HVAC).
