I have a 1946 Chevy P.U. radio Model 985792. Can anyone tell me why the face plates (covers dial & knobs) were different colors. The cab interiors were all the same color. I have a near Burgundy one and a nearly Brown one. I have seen Ivory color on some on Ebay. The Push Buttons & Dials are Ivory on both of my sets, so why the different color covers? Harold

There was a special color for the 1942 radio, then it was changed for the 1946-48. This same color combination was also used in the larger radios.
