Hi Ray, long time no chat....Ken, The engine department was making engines under the name "Light Inspection Car Company" until 1914. Then the name was changed to "Teetor Hartley motor Company" untill 1919. I have seen this in print several times through the years. Even in company documents. I thought Chevrolet always built their own engines, even in the old days. I figured someone here would be able to shed some light on this. I am very familiar with the company that evolved from the Teetor family. I was on the board of directors for the museum in Hagerstown, where it all began in 1905. Ralph Teetor invented the "cruise contol" (or as he always called it the speedostat). I might add that during this time piston ring manufacturing had not yet begun. The rings they used at this time were purchased. Ring manufacturing began when the Teetor Hartley Engine Company was sold off in 1919.
I was desperatly wanting my truck done for the event this year, but funds aren't there for "play" projects with the wifes condition getting even worse.
