I need your help. I want to return my '28 to the original look so I have have stripped down the rolling chassis from a previous sloppy restoration. Everything on the chassis including the engine was painted gloss black. With this said, can I get some pointers for repainting the following?
Frame- Semi gloss black? Front and rear axle- Leaf springs- Steering box and all rods- Wheel discs- Brake linkage rods- Fuel tank- Transmission- Bell housing- Engine- Dark green from the Filling Station? Exterior engine parts- For example: water pump, generator, starter, distributor, brackets, etc
I have a very complete car and would like it to look as original as possible but I am building a driver. I have had the concours cars but all my current cars are built to be driven.
Thanks in advanced for all your help!
Jeff

Since there have been no replies, I guess I am on my own!
I will forward my request onto the technical advisor.

Hi Jeff, There are many threads that talk about the correct colors of various things. I just searched the 1912-1928 forum with the word 'color' as the search criteria and I got a lot of hits, such as https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php...ds/color/Search/true/Re_PAINT#Post172379I suggest you also search the 'School in Session' series of postings. Lots of good info there about correct colors. Cheers, Dean

Hi Jeff, This will cause you to loose some time, but the answer to your question is outlined in the "School is in Session". Once you get to that string search for posting #89708 November 03, 2002. I have forgotten how to send a link so unfortunately you will have to do leg work.
