I just received a new set of running board rubber for my '34 this week. They look exactly like the original and are excellent quality. I got them from I & I Reproductions.
I had inquired about a year ago and they put me on a waiting list. They sent me a letter about two weeks ago that the mats were available again. I thought someone out there might want to know they can be purchased - at $175.00 plus shipping.

I suppose those would be different from the Master's.

Pat, You are correct, the Masters are different according to the I & I catalog. They show part # JM05 for the '34 Master and part # JM07 for the '35 -'36 Masters. If you want to contact them their phone number is 562.531.3096. Their website is: www.IandIReproduction.comIt was nice to be able to answer a question since I seem to always be posting so many lately. Why don't you reply here to let others know if they are in stock.

The 34 Masters are two inches longer than the Standards.

I spoke to I & I a few moments ago & they've given part number JM04 for the 1993 master & JM05 for 1934 master. They are not available yet. She said they are working on some but didn't know which ones. She has a mailing if anybody wants to get on it. No possitive answer on when....Joe

From my experience it appears that I & I keeps a list of folks interested in a particular running board cover. When they have enough interest to warrant production they make up a bunch and contact those who inquired. In this economy I can't blame them.
You may have to wait a while - I waited (actually gave up) for a year then they contacted me. I guess you could encourage anyone who needs the same covers as you do to give I & I a call.

I contacted I&I 5 years ago about these! Wendy contacted me as well and I got mine a few weeks ago. Really impressed with the quality of the mats. Now, I just need to find some new(old) mounting clips for the backing plates.

I used contact cement on my 35 Running Boards over 30 years ago and they have not come loose yet. The secret is to have the backing plates clean and a good coat of cement on both the mats and the plates. Make sure the glue gets "tacky" before you put them on. They will stay in place.

I cemented my mats with a product called Shoe Goo that is sold at most variety stores. It is tough stuff, waterproof, and allows some wiggle room to get everything in line.

Like Jon I used contact cement. You will need a small can (pint?) available at any box or hardware store and a cheap 2" brush to apply then throw away. It will hold perfectly if you follow the directions.
