So in the midst of figuring out the ignition gremlin in the '33 Truck I figured I might ask. Does anyone have a good source for a new or rebuilt distributor? This truck is essentially all stock, don't need anything fancy but if something were more reliable or better performing I am going to lean that way. This truck is soon to be on the road and rather frequently when it is.

I am more intrested getting it right than being right.

This may not be of much help. The distributor i have taken apart for cleaning mostly have brass bushing in the housing. top and bottom that are easy to replace. you may need to use a reamer to line the new bushing just like doing the main bearing in a engine rebuild.

The bushing wear out becoming loose and cause the radical timing or distributor slop. Remember we are working an autos that were meant to be rebuild in the field or under the nearest shade tree'

The correct distributor for 1933 does not have brass bushings in the housing.
