This may be an odd question, but here goes: I am finishing a complete rewiring project on a '33 1 1/2 Ton truck. On the battery, does the negative go to ground and the positive to the starter or visa versa? Just asking. I am having some starting issues and checked every practicle thing and remembered hearing about positive ground 6 volts. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi
As far as I know all Chevrolets were negative ground. Ford used the positive ground system.

I never attach a ground cable to the frame. You will get a more direct ground if you go to a bolt on your transmission top. Make sure you have bare metal where the cable touches.

Thanks all! Got it in correct, I will check the ground to the transmisson case and see if that has any effect. Seems like the ignition is failing somewhere. Someone installed NGK plugs and Accell 7mm wires. I am not so familiar with these vehicles as others, but my thoughts are to go to Autolite plugs and sourcing some closer to original solid core wires to reduce the resitance.
