The cover letter of my restoration package from GM states that my 38 Master was made either at the Oshawa Ontario Canada plant or the Regina Saskatchewan Canada plant. In the two recent articles in the Generator and Distributor on the North American Chevrolet plants, I didn't see the Regina plant mentioned. I wonder if it was overlooked.

1938 Canadian Chevs were built in both Regina and Oshawa. Regina production was much lower than Oshawa and most of the Regina cars were for the prairies and West, so it is rare to find a Regina built car in Ontario.
My reference books show the 1938 "Master" (series 12) Chevs that were built in Regina have the last five digits in the serial number in the ranges of 80001 to 81305 or 98001 to 98615. The Oshawa built Master models ended in ranges 00001 to 07553 or 90001 to 94603.

Thanks for the information. My GM letter says that for my model type, (1211S - 5 passenger special coach with trunk), 300 were made in Regina and 2898 were made in Oshawa.

I am well aware of the Regina GM plant from the research done done by David H but thought I would cover the Canadian Plants in more detail sometime later. I might add my grandfather was a farmer out of Lumsden just north of Regina, kenK

Thank you for the reply and I really enjoyed the articles. I look forward to more on the Canadian plants someday.
