I am wondering about how the oil fill tube (is that the right name?) is secured to the engine block. It appears to be a press fit and is held in place with a bracket that is bolted to the generator mount on my '34 Standard. Should I add some sort of sealant/adhesive to the tube before pressing into place? If so, what do you recommend?

Once you press it in and bolt the bracket it will be secure. Nothing else is necessary.

So I don't need to worry about oil leaking?

It would be very rare for it to leak at that point. Condensation from the engine and blow by are discharged from the top of the pipe.

Jerry,
If you are concerned about oil leaking, you might be in the wrong hobby.

Mike,

I get your point! But that would be one leak I could easily control.

(I'm still planning on coming by your place next Friday afternoon.)
