I have a 1929 GMC pick up truck. It ran 20 years ago but has been sitting in a field ever sence. It is in rough shape I would give it a 4 out of 10. It still has everything with it but the wood has rotted away in the cab. I'm trying to figure out what it is worth. I have had drems of rebuliding it my whole life but reality is setting in and I don't think that it is going to happen. I know with out seeing it it is hard to tell but I don't know where to start. If you could help me out by pointing me in the right direction i would apperchaite it.

Take that truck and drag it indoors ASAP. Then photograph the entire thing paying attention to detail. Next take it apart and when finished make each piece serviceable again and reassemble it. It's easy! LOL. I'm facing the same dilemma with a 31 four door deluxe I rescued as a parts car. So far, what I said is my plan for this wonderful piece of American history. Al W.

I have a '29 GMC pickup that I'm restoring. I'd love to see any photos that you may have of your truck. Does yours have the 'split head' six in it?

In our region there is a restored '29 GMC 1-1/2 ton truck. How original it is I do not know since it is the only one I have seen. If there is something on it that will help your research let me know and I will try to get a picture.

I will get some pictures of it up in the next couple of days. I would really like to find someone that who is intrested in buying it. Like I said the reality of ever being able to rebild it is starting to set in. I hate to see it just sit and and end up in worse shape then it is.

I Just reposted my truck. I would like to get 2500 out of it I hate to have it sit any longer and end up being no good. Like I said in my first post the reality of ever being able to rebuild it is setting in and I don't think that I will be able to get it done. If you go to E-bay and type in 1929 gmc pickup you will find it. Feel free to contact me if it is something that you are intrested in.

I must be using a different Ebay than you are. I do not see it when I plug it in.

Hey I took it off E-bay a few days ago a guy won the bid and wanted to pay with a cashiers check and wanted me to front the shipping money (one of those scames you see on date-line) any way I just found out that I may be wrong and it may be a 28 chev and has something to do with Hercules. I don't know much about it. If someone could help me figure out what I've got or if it is something that you are intrested in feel free to E-mail me at leifhnelson@gmail

It is nearly a twin to my '28 Canopy Express with Hercules body. The upright wood pieces near the tailgate indicate that it once had a top. If the back of the cab is original it could have been a pickup with canopy top. Or it could have been a Canopy Express that had the top removed and back added to cab area.

Andy29, You referring to the gray part that the gas line connects to? That is the "strainer cap". It has a "cylindrical strainer gauze" (screen to most people) inside it. What most people call them is gas line connection. The originals are die-cast (or pot metal or white metal or ???). Modern replacements are brass (some nickel plated). Zinc plated brass looks more like the originals.

Ain't we all! Learn something new every day. Sometimes I think I already knew it but, forgot! Don't ask me what I forgot 'cause I already forgot that too.
