The 1947 Stylemaster mat was black rubber with no carpet insert.
The 1947 Fleetmaster and Fleetline mat was brown rubber with carpet inserts.
The 1947 convertible mat was colored rubber and the color was matched to the interior color and it had a carpet insert.
The brown Fleetmaster-Fleetline mat is reproduced and available from ...fillingstation.com...

It would be very neat to have a color matched floor mat. For 1947 I'm guessing from the leather colors available, they would have had tan, blue or red rubber mats with the carpet insert. For 1948, they would have had blue, red or green rubber with the carpet insert. I've never seen one of these mats in any other color than brown with carpet inserts. I once had a 1948 Fleetline with an original mat, but that was a brown mat with carpet inserts orginally. Does anyone out there have an original mat that was matched to the convertible leather interiors?

The carpet inserts match the color of the leather upholstery. I bought a rubber carpet with brown carpets inserts from a fellow named Chuck from N. Hollywood CA. When I chose to install the mat I went to a local leather company and asked the owner what to do about the blue carpet inserts. He recommended a small rattle can dark blue in color. I don't have the can now but I used it in the mid '80s and the color today is good. My car had the original mat in it and the well worn inserts were dark blue. My original rubber was taupe - light brown. Another member in our region bought a black '47 19000 mile original convertible from the Harrah collection and that car had red leather upholstery. The carpet inserts were red in that car. That car had been stored in a very damp Seattle garage but the interior was in good condition. In the '48 Specifications manual RPO 377D is tan top with blue leather. RPO 377B is black top and red leather.

I described the rubber color incorrectly. They were all brown.
About 20 years ago I bought some carpet spray dye in a rattle can. It was almost like paint. I painted some fadded red carpet with it and it worked great.
The old parts book shows all the part numbers for the convertible front mats with the trim numbers listed.

Hmmm. I wonder if Mr. DeFord would put in different colors of carpeting...

My Fleetline floormat was brown with a brown carpet insert that I'd say was the basic upgraded floor mat that went in all the cars except the convertibles and would have blended well with the standard interior colors.
