If your fathers name was Howard, the 1916 H2 1/2 Roadster is still in the hands of the fellow who purchased (or traded for)the vehicle from your father. Darrell Dowdy of Waterford, Michigan has the vehicle and story goes that he traded your father a 1954 BelAir Convertible for the H2-1/2.

Yep, in the current membership database, Mr. Dowdy still lists a 1916 Roadster under his cars.

Hi Joe,
Darrell Dowdy still has the 16 and still active in VCCA although doesn't show the car much.
Good to see your name come up on the CHAT site. Do you have any collectible vehicles at present?

Many of us have very fond memories of your father. He truly was a dedicated Chevrolet enthusiast and gentle giant.

Many fond memories of Howard all the way back to the 1st Central Meet in Urbana Ohio. I have seen a movie of that meet showing him loading a Baby Grand in a trailer. The trailer pivoted at the axle for loading. It looked like a see-saw in a playground as he was loading the car. WOW !

Joe - From the movie I would say that there was a heck of a rain storm at some point in the meet. The year was 1964. I think someone has transfered the movie to DVD. Will ask around to see about getting on Youtube.
