I'm brand new to this site, so bear with me if this has been talked to death already. I am looking for original or reproduction hubcaps for my '34 Master pickup. Does anyone know if these are available anywhere for a reasonable price? Also, some folks that know a lot more than me have said that hubcaps for 1934 are unique to that year---but I have recently seen some skins for sale for 1934-36, implying that those years were the same. Any information appreciated.

Hi, my Chevrolet Master Parts list calls for the same hubcap being used on 1934 Master car and Pickup. The hubcap skins you saw listed for 34 - 36 would be for Standard models, although early 34 Standard used a 33 Standard style hubcap. Maybe one of our other members can tell you the best source for the 34 Master hubcaps, but I think Bill Hirsch is one possibility.

I looked in all of my catalogs and no one seems to be reproducing the 1934 hub caps from what I can tell. :( :(

Thanks Junkyard Dog and dlongmuir for the info. What i was referring to is that in my latest regular Jim Carter printed catalog, it has a listing for skins for 1934-36(part no TR118), but in Jim Carter's online catalog they have a separate listing for 1934 hubcaps only (part no TR117). (I found this listing at the Jim Carter site by going to parts, then catalog, then word files, then 1934, then, of course, scrolling down to hubcaps). If anybody has any knowledge about these as to whether or not they fit a master, or quality and authenticity, i'd appreciate the information.

The early '34 1/2 ton trucks used a 30-32 passenger wire wheel hubcap. The wheels were probably  17" with the smaller hubcap center hole. I say probably as I have never found any of them and the are likely difficult to find. It could be that they used 32-33 18" wheels but I don't have any documentation. Otherwise you will have to find '34 caps which are not easy to find either.

'34 Master hubcaps were the same for 35 master and some 36 masters as well So when you see "34-36" they are usually for master '34 standard hubcaps were the same as 33 standard for early 34's, then late '34 and all '35 standards used the same hubcap So when ordering new caps, you MUST quote the diameter of the whole in the wheel to make sure your cao is correct

Hey Chevguroo! I have a problem with you reply! 34 Master hubcaps are a one year and one year only cap! 35 and 36 used a different hupcap. The wheels are the same for 34, 35 and 36. The 34 Master cap is much deeper of a hubcap because 34 was the first year for knee-action.

32 confederate Sorry mate, I should have mentioned that I was refering to Australia and didn't realise there was a difference, as our rolling chasis were fully imported with (I imagine) the hubcaps on the wheels In Australia the 34 master, 35 master, 36 master and some 34 to 36 commercials shared the same hubcap. It is strange that Chevrolet in Australia ran different hubcaps to US, no wonder people get confused Our standard models were the same as mentioned in d2d2's list We actually had 3 style of caps for 36's out here, one for the master and 2 for the std Chevguroo

Hey Chevguroo!, Thanks for the note, no worries. I think that is how you guy's down under put it?
Hey Chevguroo do you live anywhere near John Debringcat? (Spelling?) I might be down in your area on business later this year, I work for Xerox and we have a plant where we make printers in Penang, Malaysia. Any good cars to see around there (32's and 34's)?

32 Confederate I've just got back from a couple of weeks leave. "no worries" is a common Aussie term for a lot of things and is an appropriate response. John DeBrincat is a very good mate who lives about 1 hour away in Sydney. In fact when I bought my 28 2door in Minneapolis about 6 years ago, it was John who looked after all the shipping arrangements once I got it to Long Beach. John and I go back about 30 years and is considered a good mate. Worthy of mentioned re the 28, is that without the help of VCAA member, named Bill Dirnburger, (a good bloke) I probably would not have managed to get the car, or have it shipped accross US to Long Beach Bill ended up coming to our 30th Anniversary Rally in 1997 and drove my 34 Master and the 28 for a week on that rally. Good stuff eh! Chris
