Would anyone know of an easy way to install the 1/2 round rubber bumper that installs under the upper A arm on the front suspension on a '55 Chev? You know, the one that has the cone shaped plug that you have to get through the hole in the frame that's about half as big as the plug.I took a photo of the bumper but can't figure how to attach it to my post. Thanks.

I used a lubricant (water and soap) on the rubber and a rubber hammer to pound it into the hole. It will take some patience and good aim with the hammer.

Hi Barney,

Not sure if the car is "together" or being assembled???

If its together....

jack up the car (safely)
Put a block of wood under the tire (the side you are installing the bumper)
Slowly let the car down - where the suspension is compressed by the block of wood under the tire.

Spray the bumper "cone" with silicone spray or WD40
Insert the bumper in the appropo location.

Jack up the car.

The weight of the car on the suspension will pop the bumper into the hole.
