Will a 1932 engine fit in (easily) into a 1931 car with existing 31 transmission and rear end?
How about a 1932 engine with it's transmission - will it fit into the car with a 1931 rear end?
OK, than how about the 1932 engine and transmission with rear end. Will that easily be replaced under a 1931 4 door sedan?
My Chevy is over 70 years old and still running great. I hope I keep running cuz I just turned 81 !!

The front engine mounting plate is different on the 1932 engine, have two mounting holes instead of one(1931). The 1932 engine and gearbox is too long to use with a 1931 differential and driveshaft. You would have change all the drive line as the easiest option. There is also clutch plate difference, and bellhousing gearbox mounting hole size differences between 1931 and 1932.

'32 engine will fit into a '31 but it is best to change out the front mounting plate. Even if you drill two holes in the '31 front cross member you will not have the plate sit flat as the '31 has a narrower flat on the cross member than a '32. The '31 transmission will bolt up. You can use either '32 flywheel, clutch and pressure plate or the similar '31 parts but don't try to mix them part '32 and part '31 or you will have a mess.
If you use the '32 transmission you will need to also use the '32 torque tube or complete rear end.
