RJP - whereas they serve no function and are strictly decoration, they couldn't be all that hard to make.
I would advertise your need, or borrow one from someone here on the Chat site and have a couple fabricated. Maybe they could be cast from a good original.

I know a member that scored a set at a recent swap meet. They are still out there.

Roger Anybody know the history of these "Irons"??? They have to have a long significant meaning, because they are still around. Funeral cars still have them...And vehicles that are used by morticians,to move dead bodies have them.I have seen brand new common vans used by Morgues with them. Apparently they have some other significant other than the "Classic carriage" look???.....ED
I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED

Ed - The fake landau bars emulate the functional ones. Here is one on a cabriolet in the folded down position. Why they show up on a hearse is unclear, but the subject is addressed here <click> Roger

I have a set for my '28 Coupe and a bunch of extra parts. Not sure if I have a complete second set or not. If you still need a set let me know and I will look.

I bought a bunch of parts for my 26 pickup and I believe there was a set of them in one of the boxes and I likely will never use them. If you still need them PM me.

I have to go to my shop and check them, although I believe there in nice condition. These were never a part of a pickup, I believe the guy was like the rest of us,he bought anything he could get his hands on that fit a 26, be it for a car or truck.I just bought everything he had. If your not in a hurry (xmas and all) I can send you a picture.

These landau irons are hard to come by but they are still out there. I have been passing up a pair that I have seen mounted to a piece of plywood with an asking price of $125.00 for about three years at the AACA Fall meet at Hershey PA. The suggestions about making your own is a legitimate idea. You can cast them in fiberglass and then paint them will Eastwood high gloss chrome like paint that they sell in a rattle can. The mold for a set of landaus could be made from an original set. Probably if you get good at it there is a market for some "extras". The 26/27 landau bars for Chevy are not interchangeable with F**d Model A
