Real big newbie here. Here is the situation. I have a '28 touring that was converted to a truck sometime before 1970. The result was that the back tub area and the rear doors are gone.
I wish to restore the old gal to here former glory. As I search the world, I wonder what other years are interchangeable for these parts. Since that would expand my chances of getting them. The rest of the car is pretty complete. Any help out there? Thanks.

I would like to WELCOME you to the Chevy Chatter. I no that someone will be able to help you with the right information. As you work your way through your restoration you will use this place for most of the information you will need. I hope you will consider becoming a member of the VCCA club which supports this site.

Thanks for the welcome. I have already joined the VCCA. Hopefully as the years go by I will be able to contribute for the greater good. Right now though I'm a babe in the woods.

There are a couple of '28 Touring cars in the DFW area owned by VCCA members. One of them occasionally is on ChatII. There are also a few '27 Tourings, one in DFW area. Since I have never inspected them closely I can't be sure if the bodies are the same but if not are very close. You might get in contact with those VCCA members to take pictures and measurements. I am sure that there is someone that can duplicate the rear parts, if you can do it. Or you might get lucky and find them stored after removing to make a truck many years ago.

thanks for the heads up on ebay but it is for a sedan and not a touring. I did find a touring tub in Colorado and dragged it back to texas. Now I have to find the rear doors....

The rear doors and centre door post panels are the same for both 1927 Capitol AA,and 1928 National AB tourers. At least they are here in Australia.

Are the front and rear doors the same? (other than the wood and the cut out for the rear fender).
My dad was missing one of the rear doors for a 27 touring and I think he took a front door and modified it to work. I remember him cutting out the rear fender arch and building a new wood frame for it.
